Spaces regeneration for a fair and sustainable living
According to the New European Bauhaus values
A project funded by the Erasmus+ program.
In the face of ecological, social, and demographic crises, social urban regeneration is a means of creating sustainable and inclusive spaces. The SPACE2NEB project is part of this dynamic, bringing together organizations committed to social entrepreneurship and the revitalization of our living spaces:
Yes We Camp (France) with Communa and Diésis (Belgium)
Together, over a period of 18 months, we conducted six case studies on shared spaces in Europe in order to develop a compendium of best practices and bring together the key skills and innovative economic models needed to transform our cities into sustainable places that are accessible to all.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Identify the key skills and business models that occupied spaces use successfully, in line with the NEB (National Enterprise Board) and EU frameworks: environment, sustainability, collaboration, and beauty. The goal is to create teams capable of responding to the challenges of our time.

We seek to develop adaptable frameworks rather than universal solutions that will sere as tools to facilitate the creation of viable business models, complemented by essential skills tested with stakeholders.

We seek to create a community and training programs tailored to shared spaces
METHODOLOGY
. Mapping > 6 case studies > Neb assessment > Validation > Disseminination and sharing of tools
Using an existing map (BASICC) as a basis, we selected key case studies. Through visits, interviews and focus groups based on NEB, EntreComp and GreenComp, we examined the methodologies and practices of entrepreneurs involved in urban regeneration, the most relevant and least available skills.

In the long term, the SPACE2NEB project aims to prefiguring the creation of a diploma in social urban regeneration, based on the knowledge and skills identified. By training future leaders of change, we will prepare them to energize regeneration projects across Europe. Together, we can transform our cities into revitalized, sustainable living spaces!
The set of related skills and abilities was developed by counting the number of times the main skills identified in each case study were repeated. Skills identified at least five times were selected as “relevant” and necessary for urban regeneration. These skills were validated by a group of stakeholders from the common areas.
